The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

The city run student transportation has been an ongoing issue that is costing our students valuable classroom time, putting an additional burden on parents with child care and driving kids to school, causing staff to take time to away from their student focus to handle issues, and and preventing the high school students from participating in out of town extracurricular activities. I will insist we put the transportation contract out to bid as the current contract ends 6/30/2022.

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

I have been on the BoE for 2 years and understand the role of a board member. I have had a 25 year + career in finance and this has been helpful with interpreting the financial reports that are discussed in the monthly finance committee.

Accomplishments:

I have effectively served on the subcommittees for Finance, Buildings & Transportation, and and Policy. I have reached across the aisle to work with members who are in a different party. When necessary I have been vocal in advocating for anything that would benefit staff and students.

What else would you like voters to know about you?

I try to be a part of the Shelton school community by taking advantage of volunteer opportunities in the schools and also attending a variety of sports and clubs that the students participate in. It is important to get to know our staff, students, and and parents so I know exactly who and what I am advocating for.
