Shelton Man Accused Of Inappropriate Contact With Minors: Police
Police said a Shelton man accused of engaging in inappropriate contact with juveniles in Norwalk has been charged with sexual assault.
SHELTON, CT — A Shelton man accused of inappropriate contact with juveniles in Norwalk was arrested on sexual assault charges Wednesday, according to police.
In a news release, Norwalk Police Sgt. Sofia Gulino said the department's Special Victim's Unit received numerous reports in January that Jean Bernard, 44, of Shelton, "had engaged in inappropriate contact with juveniles in Norwalk."
According to Gulino, the reports indicated this activity had occurred over several years and involved more than one child.

Two separate warrants were issued for Bernard's arrest following an in-depth investigation, Gulino said. He was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault.
Bernard's bond was set at $250,000 for each case, resulting in a combined total of $500,000. By order of a judge, he was not permitted to post bond until after his arraignment scheduled for Thursday morning, Gulino said.
