Shelton Police Swear In New Officer

He previously served as a Stratford police officer for over a decade, during which he rose to the rank of detective, according to police.

SHELTON, CT — A new officer with over a decade of experience serving the city of Stratford was recently sworn in by Shelton police.

In a Facebook post Monday, police said Officer Stephen Santoro was sworn in by Police Chief Shawn Sequeira and Mayor Mark Lauretti.

According to police, Santoro will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role.

A Shelton resident, Santoro has served with the Stratford Police Department since 2012, during which he rose to the rank of detective.

His extensive background includes roles as a field training officer, emergency response team leader, K9 handler and PAL coach, according to police.

Santoro's training encompasses a diverse range of specialties from S.W.E.R.T. Basic SWAT to FBI Chemical Agents in Law Enforcement, reflecting his commitment to excellence in law enforcement and community service, police said.

"Officer Santoro, welcome to SPD," police wrote on Facebook. "The SPD leadership is excited to have you on our team, and thank you for your dedicated service!"
