Shelton To Remove Pay-To-Play Sports Fee

The district is set to drop fees for sports and other extracurriculars.

SHELTON, CT — The Shelton Board of Education is set to drop pay-to-play fees for athletics and other extracurriculars so long as the district saves money on the bus contract.

The district is working on one-year contract with Durham School Services that should save more than $450,000, according to the Shelton Herald.

Fees would've brought in around $257,000 to the district. Other savings would go toward partially restoring transportation funding for the Talented and Gifted program.
