Shelton Social Club Fined, Liquor License Suspended: State Officials
Czech American Club fined $2,000 and it will have its liquor permit suspended three days next week.

SHELTON — A private social club in town has been fined and its liquor license will be suspended for three days next week, according to the state Department of Consumer Protection.
The DCP's Liquor Control Commission has cited the Czech American Club, located at 125 Center St., in Shelton, for multiple charges related to the sale and distribution of liquor and gambling.
As a result, the club was fined $2,000, which the state said has been paid, and it will be unable to sell or serve liquor from May 9-11, which is Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to the state, the club violated three statutes in total and they involved gambling on the premises, donating liquor to benefit nonprofits and purchasing liquor for resale.
