Suspect Accused Of String Of Commercial Burglaries In Shelton: PD
Shelton police said the break ins occurred in October at businesses on Bridgeport Avenue.
SHELTON, CT — A 45-year-old Seymour man was arrested by Shelton police earlier this month in connection with a string of commercial burglaries in the city, according to authorities.
James Aspinwall was charged with the following:
- Burglary, 3rd degree (3 counts),
- Criminal Mischief, 2nd degree (3 counts)
- Larceny, 6th degree
In October, Shelton police investigated six commercial burglaries at businesses on Bridgeport Avenue, and detectives developed Aspinwall as a suspect. Additionally, commercial burglaries also were reported in October in several other communities in Fairfield and New Haven counties.

"The investigation is ongoing and several additional arrest warrants are expected," Shelton police said in a statement.
Aspinwall was held in lieu of bail of $150,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court at a later date. Shelton police remind readers that the charges "are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty."
