Woman Threatened At Knifepoint In Shelton; Arrest Made: Police

The incident reportedly occurred last week at the Extended Stay America hotel on Bridgeport Avenue.

SHELTON, CT — A 32-year-old Milford man was arrested by Shelton police last week after authorities said he used a knife to threaten a woman at the Extended Stay America hotel on Bridgeport Avenue, according to authorities.

Arrested was Peter Anthony Zelinsky, of Holly Street, who was charged with the following in connection with the Nov. 3 incident:

  • Second-degree threatening
  • Carrying a dangerous weapon
  • Risk of injury to a child
  • Second-degree breach of peace

Police said Zelinsky reportedly solicited the woman, who was with her 4-month-old granddaughter at the time, for crack cocaine, and then threatened to stab her with a knife.

The initial report called into Shelton police said that Zelinsky had threatened other people with the knife, and after police arrived and found him behind the building, officers found a knife in his back pocket, according to authorities.

Zelinsky was held in lieu of bail of $15,000 and remains in custody. He is scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on Nov. 9.
