5 Simsbury Elementary Schools Among State's Top 100

SIMSBURY, CT — If you’re planning on having kids or already have young children, the quality of an elementary school is likely very important to you. A newly released list should help in knowing where the best public schools in Connecticut are located.

Niche.com has compiled its top 100 public elementary schools for 2017 using data from the U.S. Department of Education along with student and parent feedback.

Some of the data includes state test scores, student-teacher ratio, diversity, teacher quality, and the overall quality of the school district, according to Niche.com.

In looking at the top 100 public schools in Connecticut, a couple of trends are very obvious. If you can swing it financially, Fairfield and Hartford counties score very well, especially Westport, New Canaan, Greenwich, Darien, Ridgefield, Glastonbury, Simsbury, Farmington, and West Hartford.

In nationwide rankings of the top 100 public schools in America, Connecticut does very well and nine schools crack that list.

Green’s Farms School in Westport ranks No. 32, followed by the West School at No. 42, Long Lots School, No. 51, South School, No. 53, King’s Highway Elementary School, No. 66, Coleytown Elementary School, No. 70, East School, No. 71, Saugatuck Elementary School, No. 78, and International School at Dundee, No. 95.
