SIMSBURY, CT — Here are some recent notable achievements for college students from Simsbury, as reported by readMedia Newswire.

Goodwin College, East Hartford CT

  • Goodwin College's President's List for the fall 2016 session includes 309 students, all of whom scored a perfect 4.0 GPA. Simsbury students are Ellen Deckers and Gary LaBrecque.
  • Goodwin College announces that 975 students, including six from Simsbury, achieved Dean's List status for the fall 2016 session. Dean's List inclusion requires a student to earn a minimum 3.5 GPA, the equivalent of an A- average, during a given academic session. The student must also be enrolled in a minimum of six academic credits to qualify. Simsbury honorees are Ellen Deckers, Gary LaBrecque, Jennifer Marquis, Laura Smith, Leigh Vaughn and Ryan Wheeler.

Hofstra University, Hempstead NY

  • Hofstra University congratulates Madeline Myslow of Weatogue and Carolyn Oseep of West Simsbury, who were named to the fall 2016 Dean's List for their outstanding academic achievement. Students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the semester to make the Dean's List.

St. Lawrence University, Canton NY

  • A pair of Simsbury students have been selected for inclusion on St. Lawrence University's Dean's List for academic achievement during the fall 2016 semester. Emma M. Gailey is a member of the Class of 2018 and is majoring in Global Studies; Gailey attended Cheshire Academy. Katherine B. Angus is a member of the Class of 2020; Angus attended Simsbury High School. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have completed at least four courses and have an academic average of 3.6 based on a 4.0 scale for the semester.
