  • Stephen Morganti of Simsbury has been named to the Elmira College Dean's List for the winter 2017 term. Full-time students who achieve a grade point average of 3.600 or higher at the end of any Term I or Term II are placed on the Dean's List at the college.

Marietta College, Marietta OH

  • Marietta College's Helen Moore of West Simsbury was recognized at the annual Spring Honors Convocation at the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center. Moore, who is majoring in English, received The Beatrice Kremer Memorial Scholarship on April 20 in the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center. Moore is a graduate of Simsbury High School.

Springfield College, Springfield MA

  • Springfield College Senior Conor Molinare of Simsbury earned the Springfield College Visual and Performing Arts Department Distinguished Senior Award. Molinare received the honor at the recent Springfield College Academic Awards held on campus. The Distinguished Senior Awards are presented annually to graduating students who have performed consistently well in the classroom. The award recipients are chosen by their respective peers in their individual department.

  • Katharine G. Hovey of Simsbury has been selected for membership in Gamma Sigma Alpha, the national academic Greek honor society, at St. Lawrence University. Hovey is a member of the Class of 2018 and is majoring in Estudios Hispanicos and Business in the Liberal Arts. Hovey attended Westminster School. To be a member in Gamma Sigma Alpha, students must be a member of a St. Lawrence fraternity or sorority, be a current junior or senior and have either a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher or have a achieved a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher during their junior or senior year.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

  • Brendan Kaljulaid of Simsbury was welcomed into Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society on April 13 at the Western New England University chapter's 13th annual induction ceremony. Beta Gamma Sigma is a national honor society for business majors at schools accredited by AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Students are selected from the top 7% of juniors, top 10% of seniors and to 20% of graduate students. Candidates must have completed two semesters of study at Western New England University. Kaljulaid in majoring in Accounting and Finance.
  • Brendan Kaljulaid of Simsbury has been elected to serve as Business Representative for the 2017-2018 academic year. Kaljulaid, majoring in Accounting and Finance, was chosen by almost 400 who voted in this year's election which took place on March 23. The undergraduate student government, "Voice of the Students", serves as the official liaison between the Student Association and the University. The Student Senate serves as the legislative and executive branches of student governance and is a recognized forum of student opinion. The goal for this organization is to reach out to undergraduate population and let their comments, concerns, opinions, and voices be heard.
