Grant Will Help Simsbury Complete Veterans Memorial
The state grant will go a long way in helping complete the memorial that will bear the names of town veterans who have died.

Simsbury will receive a $150,000 grant through the state to help complete construction of the Simsbury Veterans Memorial.
The memorial will recognize the 104 town residents who have given their lives throughout history to protect the country.
There will be four ten-foot white granite columns engraved with the Declaration of Independent, Constitution, Bill of Rights, other symbols of democracy and the names of the deceased.

The grant comes in the form of the Small Economic Assistance Program.
“Delivering these grants today will improve the outlook for small towns across the state tomorrow. We are partnering with our smaller communities so that we can rebuild infrastructure, improve quality of life for residents across our state, and put Connecticut on a brighter path,” said Governor Dannel Malloy said. “These grants will help towns grow, remain competitive, and have a lasting impact for years to come.”
