  • A pair of students from West Simsbury have been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2017 semester at Clarkson University: Mackenzie Centrella, a freshman majoring in business studies, and Juliet Clarkson, a junior majoring in biology. Dean's List students must achieve a minimum 3.25 grade-point average and also carry at least 14 credit hours.

  • Twenty students from the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education at Eastern Connecticut State University were inducted into the Alpha Chapter of the Alpha Upsilon Chi (AUC) honor society this spring 2017 semester. AUC is the international honor society for health, physical education, recreation, sport and dance, and was established to recognize college students for their academic achievement and professional involvement in the field. Among the inductees was Daniel Straughn of Simsbury, who majors in Physical Education.

Emerson College, Boston MA

  • Kelly Salina of Simsbury graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Writing, Literature & Publishing at Emerson College's 137th commencement ceremony, held on May 14, 2017. Approximately 975 bachelor's degrees were conferred during the undergraduate exercises and nearly 270 master's degrees were conferred during the graduate exercises.

  • Ryan Coe of Simsbury and Carolyn Oseep of West Simsbury were named to the spring 2017 Dean's List for their outstanding academic achievement. Students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the semester to make the Dean's List.

Loyola University Maryland, Baltimore MD

  • Mary Kate Bourdon, of Simsbury, received a BBA degree in Business Administration at Loyola University Maryland's 165th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Royal Farms Arena in downtown Baltimore.

Tunxis Community College, Farmington CT

  • Tunxis Community College in Farmington has announced the names of those students who have qualified for the Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Students matriculated in a certificate or degree program who have earned a semester grade point average of 3.4 or higher and have successfully completed 12 or more credits, or have earned a cumulative 12 credits over multiple semesters, are eligible for this academic honor. University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa AL

University of Hartford, West Hartford CT

University of Scranton, Scranton PA

  • Alexandra E. Carter of Simsbury was among more than 1,600 students who were named to The University of Scranton's Dean's List for the 2017 spring semester. The Dean's List recognizes students for academic excellence. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours during the semester to make the Dean's List. Carter is a senior counseling and human services major in the University's Panuska College of Professional Studies.
