- Four Simsbury residents made the Dean's List for the 2017 spring semester at Rochester Institute of Technology: Andrew Doran, who is studying biomedical engineering; Nicholas Schmidt, who is studying computing security; Jack Tighe, who is studying electrical engineering; and Hillary Borrino, who is studying information technology. Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete", "D" or "F"; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

- The 46th Commencement of Tunxis Community College was held on May 25 in the College’s courtyard.A total of 307 graduates were conferred associate degrees and certificates. Those who were conferred degrees in December 2016 were also recognized at the ceremony. Graduates from Simsbury are Carolyn Chrostowski, A.S. Graphic Design; Ruth Gardner, A.S. Liberal Arts & Sciences, A.S. General Studies; Sean McCusker, A.S. Liberal Arts & Sciences; David Todd, A.S. Graphic Design; and Amanda Visciotti, A.S. General Studies.
