In this new series, Patch features outstanding members of the community that go above and beyond to give them the recognition they deserve.
Today we feature Julia Warren, a local teacher who has made a difference, sent in by Maria Sgamboti, volunteer at Squadron Line School.
Who is your favorite teacher?
Julia Warren.
Where does she teach?
Squadron Line Elementary School. She teaches Kindergarten.
Why is she your favorite?
I have been volunteering in her class once a week for 6 years. I followed her to Tarrifville school for one year.
She is the best because she makes learning fun. I laugh so much when I am in her class. She has tons of energy. She knows what each child needs to learn.
What does your favorite teacher do to show students their occupation is more than just a job?
She is always there for them and gives them individual attention. She teaches them how to deal with everyday emotions, tasks and lifelong good choices.
