Simsbury Fly-In Postponed A Week Due To Weather
Originally pegged for Sunday, Sept. 24, the annual aviation program at Simsbury Airport will now take place Sunday, Oct. 1.
SIMSBURY, CT — Since Mother Nature is not expected to cooperate this weekend, the annual "Simsbury Fly-In, Classic Car Show and Food Truck Festival" has been pushed back a week.
Originally slated for Sunday, Sept. 24, the 42nd annual edition of one of Simsbury's biggest showcases will now take place on Sunday, Oct. 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All the fun will take place at the Simsbury Airport, located at 94 Wolcott Road, Simsbury.

First started in 1980 to promote small aviation, the showcase has grown into a massive, family-fun event that rivals the many country fairs that dominate the fall landscape in Connecticut.
It will feature all sorts of good food and beverages, but it also will boast more than 500 airplanes and classic cars.

The highlight is the annual fly-in, where private pilots from throughout the northeast land on the runway, and then display their planes for folks to see, with some cockpits opened up to the public, depending on the plane's owner.
Also expected is musical entertainment, classic cars and lots of vendors with aviation and classic car themes.
The program is hosted by Squadron Capital, a Granby-based private investment firm.
