Simsbury High School Guard Hurt After Parent Runs Him Over
Parent Friday was angry over incident involving his child at the school, police said.

SIMSBURY, CT — A Simsbury High School security guard was injured Friday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle being driven by an angry parent, police said.
According to the Simsbury Police Department, the incident happened after school on Friday, with local police officers stationed at SHS anticipating the arrival of a parent upset about an incident involving his child.
Police said officers were talking with the parent in the parking lot and the parent "drove away quickly, striking a school security guard," reads a joint statement issued by Simsbury Police Chief Nicholas Boulter and Simsbury Superintendent of Schools Matt Curtis.

According to authorities, officers tried to stop the parent by he was ble to flee in his vehicle.
Police said the security guard was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and there is no danger to the public.
