Simsbury Police Report Car Theft Spree In Town Wednesday

Three vehicles were taken and a fourth was being broken into at about the same time, police said.

SIMSBURY, CT — Simsbury police Thursday confirmed a Wednesday car theft spree in town that saw three motor vehicles stolen with a fourth nearly taken as well.

As a result, the Simsbury Police Department is both asking for the public's help in catching the suspects and urging folks to take necessary precautions to avoid being a victim.

According to the SPD, at about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, a resident reported a motor vehicle stolen from Highcroft Place in town.

At about that same time, police said, police received a report of two more car thefts on Lucy Way.

Meanwhile, police heard a report of an additional attempted theft/entry on Stillwood Chase, police said.

"The Simsbury Police Department is actively investigating these crimes and has possibly identified the suspect vehicle as a red Toyota sedan," police wrote Thursday afternoon.

Police also reminded residents to take the necessary precautions to guard against vehicle theft.

"The Simsbury Police Department respectfully reminds everyone to secure their vehicle at all times and remove any remote key fob devices " police wrote.

"Also, do not leave valuables in their vehicle. As a friendly reminder, if you witness a crime in progress, please contact the police and do not attempt to intervene.
