Simsbury's Summer To End With A 'Blast'
The Town of Simsbury is hosting its 'End of Summer Blast' event Saturday night, with a fireworks show concluding the program.

SIMSBURY, CT — The first day of school in Simsbury is Wednesday, Aug. 30, but the town's summer isn't going out weakly.
That's because a massive, end-of-summer celebration is on tap locally on the last full weekend of the summer of 2023.

The Simsbury Culture, Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the "End of Summer Blast" at Simsbury Farms Golf Course, 100 Old Farms Road, on Saturday, Aug, 26.
The event, beginning at 5 p.m. will include inflatable amusements for children, a face painter, a Balloon Twister, and a concert by rock cover band The Heavy Hitters from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Those fun activities will be a prelude to a fireworks show above the Simsbury Farms Golf Course at approximately 8:40 p.m.
The fireworks show is expected to last approximately 15 minutes.
"Please be advised that for safety reasons, any shells that do not go off during the fireworks show as planned must be released," wrote the Town of Simsbury. "This would occur within approximately 30 minutes after the show."
This event is free to Simsbury residents and there will be food available for purchase from the several local eateries and food trucks.
Onsite parking at Simsbury Farms is limited, parking lots at the nearby Apple Barn, Orkil Fields and Covenant Presbyterian Church will also be utilized for parking.
Participants are asked to bring their own chairs or blanket to sit and enjoy the event.
