Teacher Named Simsbury High School Assistant Principal
Ken Pera promoted by the Board of Education today.

English department leader Ken Pera will take over as the new assistant principal at Simsbury High School, the Board of Education announced Friday.
"Mr. Pera has a proven record of excellence as a department leader, teacher and coach with the Simsbury Public Schools. His extensive knowledge of content and best instructional practices coupled with the strong connections with adults and students alike, will result in success for the Simsbury High School community," said Superintendent of Schools Matthew Curtis in a release.
Pera has served as the school's English Department Supervisor since 2004 and worked collaboratively with other district teachers and administrators to create the Simsbury teaching standards.

Before coming to Simsbury, Pera was an English teacher for eight years at Bacon Academy in Colchester.
Pera holds a B.A. in American Literature from Hofstra University and a Master of Arts from Wesleyan University. He also earned his Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership from Sacred Heart University.
