The Teapot
An original One-Act Play set in New York City in 1958.
Anka has worked many years as a maid for Eleanor. Eleanor often vents to Anka, but the two rarely engage in any real conversation. All of that changes, on a warm day in April, when Eleanor invites Anka to join her for a cup of tea. A buried secret is uncovered, revealing an important connection that they never knew that they had.
Where: Town Hall-Assembly Room-10 Maple Ave Beacon Falls, CT 06403.
When: Friday July 27th 6-8 p.m. & Saturday July 28th 1-3 p.m.
Actors will be asked to read from the script, and may be asked to improv.
Actors may prepare a short monologue. Please bring a headshot and resume (if you don’t have one please bring an updated photo).
Note: We are seeking actors who have an authentic Polish or British accent, or who can do a believable accent, as well as an ensemble of actors-all ages-(no accents required).

Rehearsals: Tuesday, Thursday and (possible pick-up rehearsals) Friday evenings in August and the first week of September. With the possibility of additional rehearsals including some weekends. There will be an additional mandatory rehearsal during the week of September 2nd along with Tech-Week rehearsals on September 10th, 11th, 12th and 14th. Actors unable to commit to the rehearsal schedule will not be considered for this production.

Character Breakdowns
Anka-20’s-60’s-Polish, quiet, shy and unassuming maid for Eleanor. (Note: May be portrayed by one or two actresses)
Eleanor-30’s-40- British, nervous, a bit squirrely. Inquisitive.
Eleanor’s Husband-30’s-40- An American businessman.
Anka’s Father-Polish, 40’s-50’s, hardworking and traditional. Handsome. Looks like a movie star.
Anka’s Mother-30’s-40’s, nurturing and gentle, yet strong.
Tomas (Anka’s Brother)-Polish, 14-18- invincible and confident.
Anka’s Husband-20’s-30’s-Polish, a kind and intelligent businessman.
Anka’s Daughter-Polish-6-9 -innocent and sweet.
Eleanor’s Father-40’s-50’s British-a robust musician who is full of life. (Please let us know if you play an instrument-not required)
Village Girl-16-20-The most beautiful girl in the village.
Young Eleanor-Tween-Teen-British-innocent and joyful.
Officer’s-German, 20’s+-Intimidating men.
Ensemble-All ages-Children and Adults-help to bring the story to life.
