Scenes were shot at Hine Brothers gas station, The Church of the Epiphany, The Lodge Bar & Grill and more.

SOUTHBURY, CT – A film crew from Zazou Productions recently shot scenes for an episode of the Japanese TV show "World's Astonishing News" at various locations in Southbury. Scenes were shot at Hine Brothers gas station on Main Street South, The Church of the Epiphany on Main Street North, The Lodge Bar & Grill on Southford Road along with other locations, Republican-American newspaper reports.

Zazou Productions is based in New York City, but Manhattan is more expensive to film in and has heavy traffic that can interfere with the shots.

The documentary is about the Puccio family – an infamous Argentine criminal family. Three family members were charged with four kindnappings and three murders in the early 1980s.

The director, Kensuke Yoshioka, said Southbury was an ideal location to film the documentary. The story took place in the 1980s, so the production company was looking for a place that has an older feel to it.

Kenji Hayasaki of Zazou Productions thanked the Southbury property owners for their help.
