Man Charged with DUI in Southbury Admits to Drinking Beer: Report

The man said he only drove because the owner of the vehicle was too drunk to drive, according to police.

Edward A. Seaboldt, 33, of New York, was charged with DUI early Thursday morning and he allegedly told police he was only driving because his passenger, who owned the vehicle, was too drunk to drive, the Republican-American reports.

Police say Seaboldt was driving erratically as he pulled into the Crowne Plaza parking lot on Strongtown Road around 2 a.m.

Seaboldt allegedly admitted to drinking beer and his blood alcohol content level was twice the legal limit, the Rep-Am reports. He also had two past DUI arrests in NY.
