New Convenience Store/Gas Station in Southbury Getting Closer to a Vote: Report

The project still needs approval by the health department.

SOUTHBURY, CT — The Planning Commission is getting closer to a vote on a proposal by Consumers Petroleum to construct a 3,400-square-foot convenience store on Southford Road, which would be open around the clock, the Republican-American reports.

The proposed Wheels gas station facility would have four gas pumps and a 14-foot tall canopy. The health department still needs to sign off on the project before a final vote can occur.

If the proposal is approved it will require the nursery buildings at Krikit’s Garden Center, the former Southford Garage and a house behind the property would be demolished, the Republican-American reports.
