Southbury Approves Funds for Bridge Repairs: Report

The hope is that the repairs will be completed before the end of the holiday season in an effort to help impacted local businesses.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Voters have approved a transfer of $312,000 to replace the Oak Tree Road bridge at a meeting Thursday night, the Republican-American reports.

The money comes from the town's fund balance. The small bridge was ordered closed due to safety concerns this summer. Several businesses nearby say they have been adversely impacted by the closure, the Rep-Am reports.

Businesses along Oak Tree Road have remained open during the closure. The repairs should be completed by early December, officials said.
