Southbury Police Working to Fill Vacancies in the Department: Report
Several new officers have been hired in an effort to fill several vacancies in the department.

SOUTHBURY, CT — The Southbury Police Department has been busy working to fill numerous vacancies.
Sgt. Brian Van Ness, who is the new resident state trooper, said two new dispatchers were recently hired and three new police officers, Matthew Ezzo, David Fernandes and Gary Corigliano, were sworn in last week, which will help soon get the department close to full strength, the Republican-American reports.
Despite the depleted ranks, officials said the current officers have been doing a great job and fortunately crime has been low while the department adds new officers, who still need to attend the police academy, which lasts six months.
