Southbury Resident, 44, Charged with Sexually Assaulting Student He Tutored
Theron Kissinger, 44, of Southbury, is accused of sexually assaulting the Westport high school student while tutoring her.

A Westport math teacher and Southbury resident has been charged with sexually assaulting a female student he was tutoring, according to various news reports.
Theron Kissinger, 44, a teacher at Staples High School in Westport, sexually assaulted the minor student at off-campus town facilities on Bayberry Lane, where he was tutoring her, police said, according to the Westport News.
He started working at Staples High School in 2011, according to a report on WFSB-TV.

Kissinger was charged with second-degree sexual assault. His was set at $50,000 and he was scheduled to appear Jan. 23 at state Superior Court in Norwalk.
