Video: Fox Makes Friendly Visit To Southbury Front Porch

SOUTHBURY, CT — Some Southbury residents got a friendly visit from a fox at their front porch.
The video as seen on the Neighbors app shows the fox meander around for a bit. The video was posted Feb. 3.
The red fox is found throughout Connecticut in abundance, according to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. They prefer a mixture of forest and open fields.
Foxes eat both plant and animal foods. They tend to be solitary and hunt alone. They are known to prey on small animals such as ducks, chicken, rabbits and young lambs.

Foxes can be seen during any time of the day, but are most active near dawn and dusk. DEEP suggests that cat owners keep their pets indoors, especially at night and to keep small dogs on a leash under close supervision.
