Police said in a statement Wednesday afternoon that the Incidents occurred in both the northwest and central areas of town Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

They said the victims reported in each instance, one or more suspects walked up to their vehicle, smashed a window, entered the vehicle through the broken window, possibly to avoid setting off the car alarm, and stole items of value.

"Of the 11 vehicle burglarized, it is believed nine were locked at the time a front side window was smashed to gain entry," wrote police in a statement.

"In total, it is believed approximately $600 in cash, along with one wallet and one purse were stolen from these vehicles."

Police said they obtained numerous videos and photographs showing the crimes are being committed by the same group, consisting of three or four individuals.

The SPD wrote the suspects were observed wearing dark-colored clothing, gloves and face coverings.

Southington police and its Auto Theft Task force are working with other jurisdictions throughout the state to identify the suspects.
