Senich, who died in March at age 83, was born and raised in Waterbury and began a career in radio in 1960. In the decades that followed, he worked for several area stations, including WNTY, WBRY, WWCO and WATR, where he was the news and sports director and one-time host of the flagship talk show, “Talk of the Town.”
Senich was named the first sports editor of the former Southington Observer in December 1975. Five years later he was promoted to editor. He is the longest-serving editor in the paper’s 45-year history.
