Prominent Southington Charity To Celebrate 100 Years With Gala, Tickets On Sale Now (patch.com) — Southington residents are invited to mark United Way of Southington's 100th anniversary with a Roaring Twenties-themed gala at the Aqua Turf Club on Oct. 16. The evening will feature food, music, auctions, and a special presentation on the charity's century of local impact, along with Centennial Awards honoring community members who have strengthened Southington.

CAVA, Panda Express proposed for former Plan B site in Southington (hartfordbusiness.com) — Southington's former Plan B Burger Bar on Spring Street could soon be split into two fast-casual spots, with CAVA and Panda Express proposed as tenants in a revamped building near Queen Street and I-84. A site plan before the Planning & Zoning Commission details a new drive-thru, reworked parking, and added landscaping, with the application tabled until the October 6 meeting.
   

3. No. 5 Southington football delivers message in decisive win over Newtown behind Mierzejewski's 3 TDs (ctpost.com) — Southington High's Blue Knights dominated Newtown 42-26 behind three long touchdown catches from senior receiver Walker Mierzejewski and four TD passes from quarterback Jacoby Roman. The win moves Southington to 2-0 and reinforces their No. 5 state ranking. Local fans can now look ahead to the team's next matchup at Windsor on Thursday evening.
   

4. Community center room at Calendar House named in memory of Pocock Jr. (newbritainherald.com) — Southington's Town Council has officially named the community center room at Calendar House after longtime public servant Edward S. Pocock Jr., recognizing his decades of dedication to the town. The honor reflects his long career with the Southington Police Department and extensive service on local boards, commissions, and community organizations.
