Police Arrest 18-Year-Old in Southington High School Bomb Threat
Benjamin Egan allegedly posted an anonymous message on Yik Yak that said he was going to set bombs off at the school.

Southington Police have arrested a teenager in connection with yesterday’s bomb threat at Southington High School.
Benjamin Egan, 18, of Southington was arrested and charged with first-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace, according to Lt. Jay Suski. He was released on a $10,000 bond.
“Detectives utilized secure law enforcement resources and conducted interviews to determine the identity of the sender of this message,” Suski said.

Egan was arrested Tuesday around 2:45 p.m. He allegedly used his cell phone to anonymously post to a social media app called Yik Yak.
“Im going to set off b ombs today and half of tomorrow at shs!”

He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan 5.
