Southington Registered Sex Offender Arrested on Child Porn Charges

A registered sex offender on parole was arrested for allegedly possessing child pornography.

Robert Amnott, 45, of Southington turned himself in Jan. 29 to police after he was told there was a warrant for his arrest, said Sgt. Jeffrey Dobratz, police spokesman.

Amnott was found accessing his computer during a parole check, Dobratz said. A stipulation of parole was that he wasn’t to access computers.

Upon further investigation the computer was found to contain multiple child porn images, Dobratz said.

Amnott was charged with first-degree possession of child pornography and was held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
