Southington Commission Bans Smoking in Parts of Town Parks
The ban takes place immediately.

Southington smokers hoping to light up in certain parts town parks will have to find another spot.
The Park Commission adopted a policy on Monday that bans smoking within town parks, according to Fox CT.
Smokers won’t be able to smoke near playgrounds, fields, basketball courts and other heavily-used areas, but will be able to smoke outside of those areas.

In fact, all tobacco use is banned within certain areas, according to the Hartford Courant. The policy is similar to those around municipal swimming pools.
