Southington Gives 7-year-old Cancer Fighter Her Best Summer
'Kendall's Best Summer' aims to help the Lord family of Southington give their autistic, cancer-stricken daughter a memorable 2022 summer.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — In no way, shape or form is the Lord family of Southington giving up on little 7-year-old Kendall Lord's cancer battle— regardless of what doctors tell them.
And they're working hard this summer to give the brave girl, who has autism and is battling an aggressive form of cancer, her "best summer."
In fact, their quest, called "Kendall's Best Summer," has generated more donations from the local community than the $20,000 goal.

As of Monday morning, the amount raised to give Kendall her "best summer" was $20,710, a figure that will likely only grow.
Family friend Michelle Kerski started the GoFundMe page for "Kendall's Best Summer" on behalf of Kendall's mother, Danielle Lord.

Both discussed the situation and Kendall's harrowing health crisis with WTNH Channel 8, with the odds currently stacked against little Kendall.
But, again, the Lords are not giving up at all.
"The Lord family just found out for the THIRD time that the cancer has returned. This time is different, however, because sadly, Kendall is out of treatment options. To be clear here...Kendall and her family are refusing to say that the cancer has won," reads the GoFundMe post put out by Kerski.
"Kendall's strength, positivity, and zest to live her best life has won and always will. This fundraiser is to help provide Kendall with her best summer and we hope to give her family the financial support to do this."
A photo of a smiling Kendall on the beach adorns the GoFundMe page, with a July 15 update below showing Kendall enjoying herself at Quassy Amusement Park in Middlebury.
She had gone to the park with her mother, father, brothers and grandmother.
According to the GoFundMe page, Kendall is battling stage IV kidney cancer and the disease isn't treatable, with her battle now exceeding three years.
A "Kendall's Best Summer" Facebook page was even set up to share memories.
