Woman Accused of Letting Kids Smoke Pot, Drink at Residence

A Southington woman is facing a felony charge for allegedly allowing children to smoke pot and drink alcohol on her property.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Southington woman is facing a felony charge for allegedly allowing children to smoke pot and drink alcohol on her property, a warrant states.

Tricia Angelo, 43 of Southington, surrendered on Sept. 14 after learning there was a warrant for her arrest, police said.

Angelo was charged with risk of injury to a child and held on a court-set $10,000 surety bond until she appeared in court later that day, records show.

The bond was reduced to a promise to appear and the case was contunued until Oct. 25, judicial system rcords show.

The warrant alleges that Angelo allowed juveniles to smoke marijuana and drink alcohol "within her residence and with her knowledge."

Police said the investigation was initiated after a parent of one of the children involved found "suspicious text messages" between the child and Angelo.

The state Department of Children and Families was notified of the investigation, police said.
