Ok. That was for those who were thinking that what I meant by “ways to see the world” involved traveling

What I really mean to talk about is worldview, the lenses through which we interpret the world around us.

Here’s a basic summary of worldviews:

Imagine that every aspect of physical reality - all that can be seen, heard, touched, measured, calculated, verified – all of it exists in a box the size of the physical universe.

At this point, worldviews can be divided into two large, very vague, groups – those who believe that what is in the box is all there is and those who believe there is something/someone outside the box.

The “Box Only” group can be characterized as naturalists or materialists. The “Box And” group are spiritualists or theists.

Some "Box Only" views allow that there could possibly be something outside the Box, but we can never really know for sure, therefore, its impractical to think about it.

Some "Box And" views accept the reality of something outside the Box, but do not believe this something interacts with the physical world, while others believe the something outside the Box does interact with the physical world.

Among the “Box Only” views, a variety of applications exist. A few can be summed up as follows:

“Life is short, then you die.”

“If it feels good, do it.”

“The greatest impact you can make in the world is that people remember you when you’re gone.”

Some of the “Box And” applications look like this:

“Walk by faith, not by sight”

“Seek to become one with the universe”

Do you have a “Box Only” view of the world, reality, or a “Box And” view?

Do you think your worldview matters? How does your worldview impact the way you live?
