• Fall 2026 Update for Bissell Bridge Rehabilitation on I-291 in Windsor and South Windsor (ct.gov) — Drivers in South Windsor should prepare for a long-term traffic pattern change on I-291 over the Connecticut River as Bissell Bridge rehabilitation continues through November 2027. Starting October 8, 2026, westbound traffic between exits 2 and 1D will shift back to two lanes with narrower shoulders, and motorists are urged to slow down and watch for ongoing construction.
   

• Woman arrested on DUI charge in South Windsor (newportdispatch.com) — South Windsor police arrested a Vernon woman Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of DUI after witnesses reported her stumbling while loading a child into a car near Chapel Road schools. Officers say she failed field sobriety tests with a juvenile in the vehicle, and she now faces charges including driving under the influence and risk of injury to a child, with court set for October 23.
