We start out the day with a trip to the Suzhou silk factory. See from the cocoon to the spinning process, to the finished product. Silk sheets, pillows, clothes are all available to purchase. Continuing afterwards with a tour of the centuries old Lingering Garden. Amazing garden, peaceful, beautiful architecture and courtyards. In the afternoon we visited the National embroidery Institute which showcases the 1,000 years of history of the silk embroidery craft. Years maybe spent on one piece of work. The pictures from this day do not do justice to what we saw and learned. The last part of the day is spent traveling to Hangzhou.
