Day Three in China, or is it Day Five, and we are off to Shanghai!

So the tittle says day three, but it is actually day five of the trip because you leave on day one, travel thirteen hours and it is forward twelve hours so it is the next day when you land or day two.  Day three we saw the Temple of Heaven and Great Wall.  Day four was the visit to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City.  So today, day five, we fly to Shanghai.  Followed by a bus trip to the city of Suzhou. The first stop was Tiger Hill, or the Chinese version of the leaning tower!  Lunch and off to the Grand Canal Ride.  Riding down these canals reminds you of Italy, but stopping to see the market you know you are in China.  Live ducks for sale, eels, black eggs and every thing you can imagine is available!   Open air market is packed very tight with vendors full of fresh produce that reminded me of the Seattle fish market. Sadly the water is very dirty and people wash their clothes, dishes, and I'm not sure what else in the water.  By the time we left it was evening and time for dinner.

The South Windsor Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Tolland and Glastonbury Chambers and Citslinc to take a group to China April 3-11, 2014 for a once in a life time trip and all inclusive price of $2399*.
