Man Goes to Police HQ to Bail Out Brother, Ends Up Arrested: South Windsor Police

Both brothers were wanted on re-arrest warrants.

A Hartford man went to South Windsor Police Headquarters to bail out his brother, but was arrested himself when police discovered he was wanted on a re-arrest warrant.

It all started at about 12 noon on Monday, Feb. 1, when an officer stopped a vehicle on John Fitch Boulevard for a violation.

Officers learned the driver, Bashdar Raouf, was wanted on a re-arrest warrant.

Raouf, 33, of 12 Congress St. in Hartford, was charged with second-degree failure to appear and was later released on a $250 cash bond.

During Bashdar’s release it was learned that his brother, Raidar Raouf, who had brought bond money to headquarters, was also wanted on a re-arrest warrant.

Officers arrested Raidar Raouf, 29, of 12 Congress Street in Hartford. He was charged with second-degree failure to appear and was later released on a $2,500 cash bond.

Both Bashdar and Raidar Raouf are scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Feb. 11.
