Massachusetts Mother, Son Accused of Shoplifting in South Windsor
The pair attempted to steal video games, Lego sets, a Dyson vacuum and more.

A Massachusetts mother and son were arrested for allegedly shoplifting several items from a Buckland Road retail store on Saturday.
South Windsor police were notified of a shoplifting-in-progress at the store, according to a police press release.
Store security officers watched a male and female place several video games, Lego sets, a Dyson vacuum and other items in a shopping cart then attempt to leave the store without paying, according to police.

A security officer approached the couple and the male suspect fled into the parking area. Officers located and detained the woman, who lied to officers about her involvement in the case, according to police.
Officers later located the male suspect several miles away. The officers learned that that woman was in fact the mother of the other suspect.

Officers arrested the pair, Pamela Meyer, 57, of 3 Centerwood Drive in Agawam, Mass., and Douglas Walters, 29, of 549 Parker Street in East Longmeadow, Mass. They were charged with conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny and interfering with an officer.
Both Meyer and Walters were later released on a $5,000 non-surety bond. They are scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Dec. 4.
