Presidential, Congressional Primaries Conclude Tuesday

Residents may vote in person from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, while absentee ballots may be dropped off now through 8 p.m. Tuesday.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — The most unusual circumstances under which presidential and congressional primary elections have ever taken place conclude Tuesday, as registered Democrats and Republicans in South Windsor head to the polls Tuesday, or continue dropping off absentee ballots in a special receptacle in front of Town Hall.

The onset of the coronavirus pandemic has led to unprecedented safety measures. For the August 2020 primaries, all residents had the option of voting by absentee ballot, pursuant to Executive Order No. 7QQ of Gov. Ned Lamont. Absentee ballots must be deposited by 8 p.m.

Those opting to vote in person may do so Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at these polling locations:

  • Districts 1-2- 3: South Windsor High School
  • District 4: Charles Enes Community Center (Philip R. Smith School is undergoing reconstruction)
  • District 5: Timothy Edwards Middle School cafeteria

South Windsor Democrats and Republicans will be voting for their presidential preference, and Republicans will also be choosing a candidate for the 1st congressional district.
