Revolutions Opens Outdoor Patio
Bowling & Lounge business gets okay from zoning commission despite objections from neighbors.

Those looking to enjoy dinner or drinks at Revolutions Bowling & Lounge may now do so al fresco.
The bowling and entertainment center on Route 5 opened its outdoor patio about a week ago after getting approval from South Windsor's Town Planning and Zoning Commission.
Revolutions brought an application to host outdoor activities, open an outdoor bar and patio, and have music and dancing at the facility months ago but the project met with opposition from neighbors along Colony Road who feared it would mean more noise. Patrons outside Nomads Adventure Quest already create too much noise, some residents said.
But the applicant presented results of a noise study showing noise levels fall within acceptable levels and the commission will ensure that continues to be the case.
One of the conditions of the approval specified that sound readings must be taken at the first two large outdoor events, both on and off the site, and submitted to town staff. And, if noise complaints are made, sound levels must be brought into compliance with the town noise ordinance.
The outdoor patio is open daily until 11 p.m., according to staff.
