Currently the Vice Chair, SW Board of Education

The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and
this is what I intend to do about it.

The increasing numbers of children attending the schools./ Work bipartisan with BOE members and the administration to think of creative ways that make sense to support the community’s needs.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates
seeking this post?

I work in higher education and understand the needs and demands that students need to be prepared for.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

Serve as the Vice Chair and have run Board of Education meetings in the absence of the Chairman, worked with the BOE and Town Council to pass a responsible budget, participated in both the teachers and administrators contract negotiations, supported the introduction of World Languages to the elementary schools, participate with Support South Windsor Schools at multiple events to talk to community members about the next referendum.

The best advice ever shared with me was ...

If you want to see change, get involved.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your
positions?

I believe in giving back to the community. Not only do I serve on the Board of Education, but I'm an active volunteer with Pack Leaders Rescue. I feel it is important to be part of and participate in community events.
