South Windsor May Increase Minimum Age For E-Cigarettes, Tobacco

The Town Council is considering a measure to raise the minimum age to purchase e-cigarette and tobacco products to 21.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT - The Town Council is considering new rules that would raise the legal age to purchase tobacco and electronic cigarettes from 18 to 21, according to the Journal-Inquirer. The rules are being proposed in response to increased use of electronic cigarettes among teens, which often contain harmful chemicals.

Various government agencies have warned about the rise in youth using e-cigarette products and the state government is considering similar restrictions.
