Carole T. Fiorita, 54, of South Windsor, treasured wife of Richard A. Fiorita, Sr., passed away peacefully at Hartford Hospital on Friday, May 13, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was a devoted wife for 28 years and a loving and supportive mother to her three sons, Ricky, Ryan, and Reason. Although gone from their sight, her spirit lives on in their hearts.
Born in Hartford on December 19, 1961, Carole Ann Thorner was a daughter of the late Walter Thorner and Ruth (Byrne) Thorner of Windsor. She was the second youngest of four daughters in the Thorner family and attended St. Gabriel School in Windsor before graduating from Windsor High School in 1979. In 1982 Carole and Richard met at a party and after a lengthy courtship married on May 21, 1988. The happy couple shared many wonderful moments together and was blessed by the birth of their first son in 1993. Two more healthy boys later, born in 1995 and 1997, Carole was a full time Mom busy raising and having adventures with her little men. Although surrounded by testosterone, Carole reserved a softer, feminine side for special outings with her three sisters whom she adored.
She was always the life of the party and never happier than when she was sharing the good times with her friends and family. During her leisure time she enjoyed reading, watching movies, and cuddling with her energetic dog, Lily. She was a generous and selfless woman who always put the needs of others before her own. Carole regularly turned conversations away from her health issues, so she could focus on the concerns of others.
