South Windsor Obituary: Mamie Payer, 89

Mamie Elaine (Brice) Payer, 89, of Manchester, formerly of South Windsor, beloved wife of the late Joseph Payer, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Manchester Manor.

She was born September 27, 1926 in Atlanta, GA to the late Charles and Hattie (Henry) Brice. She had lived in South Windsor for over 40 years before moving to Manchester. She was a loving and devoted wife who cherished her family. She loved to host picnics and any type of family gathering. She was an energetic woman who was very generous with everyone she knew. For many years she had worked at Eastco in East Windsor.

She is survived by her son, Michael "Maurice" Payer and his wife Pat of Amston and her daughter, Debra Payer of Broad Brook. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by many brothers and sisters.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 2, 10 a.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. Burial will follow in Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, May 1, from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
