South Windsor Police Help Arrest Alleged Serial Robbers

The two suspects are accused of multiple robberies across the Greater Hartford area.

Police from multiple departments have arrested two suspects who are accused of robbing several stores across the Great Hartford Area.

Manchester police arrested Joseph Dennis, 32, of Vernon and charged him with first-degree robbery, fifth-degree larceny and conspiracy for both crimes, according police.

Vernon police arrested John Papin, 32, of Vernon on Friday and charged him with first-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy. Vernon police also have two warrants for Dennis. Papin was charged with the robbery at the Rubia Food Mart.

Vernon police also believe Dennis was involved in the Rubia Food Mart robbery and the On the Way convenience store robbery, said Lt. William Meier.

The investigation was done by police from the Vernon, Manchester, Newington, South Windsor, Hartford police departments along with state police.

Many robberies had the commonality of a man holding up a store with a knife.

More charges are anticipated, Meier said.
