South Windsor's Top Shelf Wine & Liquor Holds Grand Re-Opening

Liquor store has doubled in space since acquired three years ago.

Just three years after acquiring Top Shelf Wine & Liquor, owner and manager Neelima Nalamada has doubled the store’s size from 1,200 to 2,400 square feet.

To celebrate the occasion, the store, located at 267 Oakland Road, held a grand re-opening on Friday evening.

The new space now features a greater selection of wine and liquor, as well as a section for craft beer, according to Mahesh Nalamada, Neelima’s husband and co-owner and manager.

“The biggest thing is we were able to meet our customer’s demands better,” Mahesh said, adding that Nilima is the one who is more active in the day-to-day operations of the store. “We carry more variety and provide what they are looking for.”

The greater floor space also enables the Nalamadas to buy inventory in greater numbers, which results in reduced prices that are passed on to consumers.
