South Windsor Town Council seeks replacement to serve as body's record-keeper, administrative assistant.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Town officials are scrambling to find a records caretaker for the town's top governing body after South Windsor's "clerk of the council" submitted his recent resignation.

At a special meeting late last month, the South Windsor Town Council accepted South Windsor Clerk of the Council Scott Nolan's resignation "with regret," extending the town's thanks in the process. His last day on the job is June 10.

The council then, according to meeting minutes, undertook several motions to give municipal leaders the authorization to fill the position both long- and short-term.

The job requires record-keeping, among other duties, and attendance at all municipal council meetings.

In his resignation letter, Nolan said he is leaving South Windsor for personal reasons, but also doing so on good terms with the town.

"While my decision to leave is a personal one, it is not out of any ill will or discontent, but rather an unexpected personal career opportunity that I simply could not have anticipated," wrote Nolan.

Nolan also thanked South Windsor officials for the opportunity to work for the town and serve its residents.
